Starting from the Fall semester of the 2023 academic year, the following Course withdrawal system will be implemented for undergraduate course applications at the Seoul campus.


A. Background and Purpose of the Course withdrawal system

1) Expanding the actual guarantee of student enrollment rights

2) Proactively accepting requests from student organizations such as student councils for continuous introduction of the system

3) Improving the quality of teaching and learning and enhancing student satisfaction


B. Implementation Date

1) Implementation from the 2nd semester of the 2023 academic year

2) Course withdrawal system schedule for the second semester of the 2023 academic year

 2023.9.22.(Fri) 10:00 ~ 2023.9.25.(Mon) 09:00

3) 3rd semester closing schedule

 2023.9.25.(Mon) 17:00 The 3rd lecture will be closed only for courses with 0 students due to course withdrawal.


C. Course withdrawal system operation details and notes

1) Application date: Usually in the 4th week of the semester.

2) Application limit: Up to 9 credits per semester.

3) Application Procedure

 i) Activate the drop menu on the course list of the portal during the Course withdrawal period.

 ii) Complete the application after applying and confirming the student without additional approval

 iii) Cancel the course withdrawal is possible during the waiver period

 iv) After the withdrawal period, the withdrawal is confirmed

4) Whether the applied credits can be carried over: The withdrawn credits cannot be carried over to the next semester.

5) Restricted courses

First-year prerequisite courses, batch course assignment courses, laboratory courses, and flexible semester courses, team project courses, and other courses that require restrictions on withdrawal for curricular purposes and operations. withdrawal is restricted.

6) Cancellation of the Courses: A course may be exceptionally canceled if there are 0 enrollments due to withdrawal.

7) In case of insufficient credit requirements due to withdrawal, graduation requirements, selection of honor students for the semester, etc, you may be excluded from grade-related awards such as graduation honors, and from applying for early science credit in the next semester. Please be careful and check the reward criteria in advance.

8) Please note that withdrawal from a course may result in disadvantages, such as being excluded from selection for scholarships such as national scholarships due to insufficient credit hours, so please check the requirements of individual scholarships in advance.

9) Changes in the number of credits due to withdrawal, including those who enlisted for the extra semester, will not be reflected in the calculation of tuition fees.
